Oman Capital Markets Outlook
This report offers a comprehensive analysis of Oman’s capital markets, structured into five sections: (1) an evaluation of Oman’s potential reclassification to Emerging Markets status by MSCI and FTSE, (2) an overview of market structure and key participants, (3) an assessment of growth prospects in equity markets, (4) an analysis of the fixed income market, and (5) the implications of attaining Investment Grade status. We conclude that Oman has substantial growth potential in its capital markets and is on the right path toward Emerging Markets inclusion, although several challenges remain to be addressed.
Omani Banks – Good Things Come in Small Packages
The report reviews the performance of Oman’s leading banks and the broader trends shaping the banking sector in the Sultanate. It focuses on the factors influencing the sector’s development at this stage, examining liquidity conditions, lending and financing levels, and the impact of monetary policies on banking activity and performance stability. It also discusses key indicators of operational efficiency and the banks’ ability to meet market needs, reflecting the sector’s central role in supporting economic growth in Oman.
GCAT: The Rise of a Strategic Corridor
This report marks the launch of our macroeconomic coverage of the GCAT region, comprising the Gulf, Central Asia (including the Caucasus), and Turkey, offering in-depth analysis across 14 strategically important countries. We present detailed macroeconomic forecasts for each country, offering a data-driven view of growth, fiscal dynamics, and external balances.
In parallel, we initiate comprehensive coverage of Global Commodities, with a focus on oil, gas, and key raw materials shaping regional and global dynamics. By connecting macro trends with commodity markets, this report aims to provide a holistic view of the economic forces at play across this interconnected landscape.
OQBI | OQGN – Oman Gas Duo: Building-out Diversification
This report explores how OQBI and OQGN, both part of OQ Group, offer complementary exposure to Oman’s expanding natural gas value chain. We see OQBI as a differentiated chemicals platform with balanced commodity exposure and structural cost advantages yet to be fully realized by the market, and OQGN as a regulated gas infrastructure play with an attractive returns arbitrage. Together, they provide investors with a combination of earnings growth, yield, and downside protection. Delivery on strategy, capital allocation post IPO and improving liquidity of Oman’s equity market is additionally supporting investment cases.
Oman Investment Bank GCC Quarterly Earnings Monitor 2Q25
The second edition of our GCC Quarterly Earnings Monitor features an expanded analysis, now covering 721 listed companies. This edition also introduces a new “Focus List” of 30 large-cap, liquid stocks that tend to appear in major indices and we believe have relatively broad institutional ownership. The Monitor’s objectives are to identify earnings trends across key sectors, examine earnings developments on a country-by-country basis, and contextualize these findings within the framework of market price movements. The report is a quantitative strategy document, grounded in factual data and does not provide direct investment recommendations.
Oman Investment Bank GCC Quarterly Earnings Monitor 1Q25
Oman Investment Bank launches its 1Q25 GCC Quarterly Earnings Monitor, analyzing 542 listed companies and capturing 99% of the region’s market capitalization. This report offers a data-driven breakdown of sector earnings trends, momentum signals, and the gap between fundamentals and market prices. With over 75 sector-country combinations examined, it highlights where investor sentiment diverges from earnings reality and where valuation asymmetries are forming. OIB’s inaugural 1Q25 GCC Earnings Monitor is grounded in a robust quantitative framework, covering over 75 sector-country combinations. It adjusts for one-offs, discontinued operations, and non-core items—offering a clean view of normalized earnings.
